No Settings- Reading option

  Hello,
  So my original problem is that when people subscribe for emails the email contains the entire blog post. I want the email to contain only a summary so that people have to click into the blog. I read several forums and every single one said to change it by going to settings and then reading.

  That is simple enough except I don’t have a reading option. I have general, analytics, import, writing, and discussion. No reading. The forum suggested losing in and out, making sure you are an admin, and creating a page. I did all of that and nothing worked. I also downloaded nah most current edition, nothing.

  What should I do? I want a reading section, but more importantly I need people to have to click into my blog to read the entire post.
