No shortlinks and preview?

  I tried locating the shortlinks button, but to no avail. And after clicking the preview button, it tells me at the top, in a green bar, that I’ve saved my post as a draft and to view it, but it simply refreshes in edit mode.

  You click the link above the edit Post box that says Preview.

  For some reason I got a weird-looking, but new layout of WP when I was adding this first post. But now my site dashboard is back to the ‘old’ format. Everything is there. And everything works again.

  Do you know what I’m talking about? WP had like the ‘Bee bee bop’ status update page when I was updating my post or trying to preview.

  Yes, you get that when you use the New Post button. I personally never use it as it is the #1 cause of blog posts publishing blank. I write all my posts using the dashboard Post->Add New page.

  Ah. So that’s how I got the normal post page. Dashboard it is.

  And even so, I know it’s happened to me. Switch to text editor, copy all, then update or publish. They do say that’s not how things go, but there sometimes there be dragons here. It’s happened to me. Copy all, then do what you need do. If it goes unforeseen, you can paste your time into a plain text editor to recover…

  It has happened to me as well. Everyone loses a post at least once, that’s just the way of the world, but this is predictable: people who use that button WILL lose long posts sooner or later.
