No sidebar when following Permalinks?

I’m currently using the default WordPress theme Kubrick which has a two column design. Now when somebody arrives at one of my articles via it’s Permalink they only get to see the article but there’s no sidebar at the right and thus no categories listed which could help navigating my blog. The only way for them to navigate are the links atop the page lining to previous and following article.

This is might not be enough since I’m writing about different topics which might not interest the reader so having all categories listed to the right helps realize there could be more stuff for them.

Kubrick has always had no sidebar when viewing a single post. It’s how it was conceived and designed. It is not something we can alter.

Right, is there a theme that looks like Kubrick but does have sidebar on single posts?

There are TONS. WordPress is notorious for favoring the BBH (Big Blue Header) themes. Look through the five pages of Designs and you’ll find one that works better. Kubrick is rather difficult to work with, and most people change it immediately.
