No site configured at this address

All too frequently lately, I keep getting this error when I try to access my blog: No site configured at this address. It will happen while I am typing a post, uploading a photo, or just randomly when I try to access the blog. In a few hours, it comes back.

I have seen many other topics on this that are locked so I cannot add to them. Generally by the time someone answers them, the site has come back online, so the answer is that they can see the blog in question and they recommend the poster clear their cache.

Clearing the cache does not help, though. The problem appears to be coming from WordPress. After waiting a while, it is resolved, but this is happening so frequently now that I am curious as to whether there is a massive upgrade/issue and this will only be a bit longer or if this is going to be an ongoing problem. Can anyone with knowledge about WordPress’s servers comment on this?

    Thanks!

Oh, the website automatically added that last line. I intentionally did not link to my blog because it is protected, so anyone reading this won’t be able to access it even when the service is working. :)

I still am unable to access my blog tonight. It has been down for 8 hours now. I know other people are having this problem because I can search for this error and find other posts about it. Surely WordPress is aware of this error?

Possibly not, since staff are on a retreat till the 10th of the month. Someone flagged this thread for their attention already, so just wait till one of them pops in to help. Since your blog is private, none of the volunteers here can help you straighten this out and you will just have to wait for staff. Don’t post again to the thread, because they work from the oldest unanswered threads to the newest; every time you post, you send the thread to the back of the line automatically. Just subscribe to the thread and wait.

Your blog appears to be functioning properly on my end. Are you still unable to access your blog? Can you log into your account, or view other blogs on WordPress.com?

You should be able to access your site at https://yoursite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ (note I deleted your site in the original post, so you will need to substitute your site name for “yoursite” in the address).

If that doesn’t work, please try different browser or a different computer to see if that changes anything. If you are still having trouble, please let me know what browsers (and versions) you’ve tried, and precisely what happens when you try to go to your blog. A screenshot of what you’re seeing would be particularly helpful: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ . You can upload a screenshot to an image sharing site or send it as an attachment via email with a link to this forums post in the email so we can connect the two.
