No [sitename].wordpress.com option when creating a new site
-
I’m trying to create a new free site but I can’t select the URL [sitename].wordpress.com. This URL format used to be the free option. Now for the free option it’s giving me the option of something like sitename73632525.wordpress.com. See this image for an example: https://ibb.co/Ln6x808

Thanks, staartmees (it’d be helpful if the page said that, wouldn’t it?).
The thing is, when the page says “Sorry, that site is reserved!”, usually that means it’s reserved for the account with that username. In my case, the website I’m setting up should be reserved for me (because that’s what my account name is (I registered it with a different email to this one)). If that’s the case, any idea why I still can’t choose [sitename].wordpress.com?
(This process could certainly do with some more clarity on the relevant pages. I can see this problem is experienced by others, but never seems to be resolved clearly, or the resolutions no longer work.)
Thanks for you help, saartmees.

weirdmaths.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.Once a site got deleted, the URL can’t be reused.
