No static homepage option to be found
-
Hello,
After generally searching I find that even the wp.com help article suggests I navigate to pages->static homepage or customize-> Home page settings and my site has no mention of homepage settings in the ascribed directions. Could someone help please? It’s a free version running the theme ‘Twenty Sixteen’, but what I would like to do is a static home page as I learn to build what I’d like. I’m developing this before I can raise the money to convert to a business plan. Thank you!
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Perhaps you need to publish the appropriate page and launch your site for those settings to “take”.

That was exactly it, I just kept going through with adding the page. I’m wondering if anyone could tell me how to add buttons to navigate to those new pages? I’m new and learning from tutorials but I’m guessing this would save me time, and I will create a separate post. Anyhow, thanks for the reply

I personally would only have a static front page if I was just making an “information” site that only needed that one front page. If you have further content you wish visitors to see you are relying on them “clicking through” to them via a menu. At least with a traditional blog front page visitors only need to scroll down to view multiple items on your site.

I want the static page to be a landing page and other basic pages are the blog, contact, events pages and maybe 1 or 2 more. Simple but comprehensive. I’m a therapist and each page would serve an ascribed function related to my business
