No Static Page Option
-
I’m trying to set up my front page to have a static home page but have no option static homepage when I go to customizer.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Have you added a page in the first instance to be set as static? The option should be right there in “Customize” bottom left below “Widgets”. Your site is set to private so I can’t see which theme you’re using.
-
Yes, I have that view in my old site..in the new renamed one I only have testimonials and theme options under widgets.
I have 4 pages, Private: Home , Private: About , Private: Contact and Private: Blog
I am using the Pique theme
Thank you and best regards.

Can you set up a static page from the “old” wp-admin dashboard?
https://sylviahaircouture.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php
-
no, that is the new one.
The old is https://wordpress.com/customize/topchichairstyling.wordpress.com
and yes, here I have the option to set a static page
-
I checked the difference,
In the new one when I go to the dashboard and look at my pages :
Private: Home
Private: About
Private: Contact
Private: Blog
Blog Posts
Your latest posts, shown on homepageI don’t have the option to change the “Your latest posts, shown on homepage”
and in the old one : ‘Home’ this page is set as your site’s homepage
-
So the link didn’t help? Now you’ve got me confused. Whichever site it is that you cannot set a static page on have you tried adding wp-admin to the address and going to “Settings” “Reading” “Static front page”??
-
Ok, the problem is with : https://sylviahaircouture.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php
and I don’t have “Static front page” under Reading Settings,
Options : Blog pages show at most
Syndication feeds show the most recent
can I give you access maybe so you can see?
-
I’m sure you can set a static page with the Pique theme. Are you the owner/admin of the site in question? If you are only a contributor that might only give you options to make certain changes to the site.
-
I am owner, yes because both sites have this theme so should indeed have a static page option..
-
My last thoughts are….could it be because you have the site still set to private and perhaps because all your pages are still set as drafts and there are no pages yet published??
-
perhaps because all your pages are still set as drafts and there are no pages yet published??
You are correct. :)
You cannot select a static front page until you have a public, published page.
sylviahaircouture – once you publish a public page, the Static Front Page panel will appear in your Customizer.
