No tags in my posts. Does is matter ?

  Hi
  I have not associated any tags with my posts. They are just assigned categories. Does this reduce the chances of getting hits from the search engines ? I’ve read somewhere that search engines look for tags which are associated with the posts. I dont very much understand the concept of tags and so there absence.
  Please throw some light.

  You’re fine with categories alone. The functionality of tags and categories is similar and categories work even better with google.

  Not to me it isn’t! I’m reading all the tags and categories posts and I’m utterly confused, esp since my tags aren’t showing up.
