no thumbnail when posting to facebook.

hello –
i’d like to launch my website today. when i put the web address into Facebook, fb links to the site, it says showing thumbnail 1 of 1, and the image area is blank. can you help me get the thumbnail to show? i am using the stay theme and the images on the home page are the slider images.

Unfortunately, we cannot assist you with this. When using Publicize, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include. i’m guessing the issue is that stay uses the slider. is there a way for me to upload a pic to my home page and not have it be visible on the page, but to have it read in the html? then i can force fb to read it again with the debugger?

I can tell from the number of people who have posted this same issue that it’s not likely to be a theme issue at all.

gotcha.
ok, well for other people who are having this issue, my way around it was to create a life event on FB, upload a pic with the life event, and share the link there in the description.
