No thumbnail when posting to social media

  I am using the Lovecraft theme. The last few posts I have shared on facebook and twitter fail to show any kind of image. I have tried choosing a featured image, but it doesn’t work, and then the featured image doesn’t display properly on the blog.

  Hi there,

  We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

  I see an image when sharing your latest post on Facebook:

  

  If you ever experience this issue again, run the post URL through the Facebook debugger – link provided by timethief above – and click the “Scrape Again” button. Sometimes Facebook misses picking up the thumbnail image the first time around, and “Scrape Again” usually clears its internal cache.

  Note that the sharing thumbnail must be at least 200 x 200px for Facebook to use it.
