No toolbar for my posts
-
Happy New Year all! I want to add links within my posts. I looked on the FAQ’s and it gave a very easy to understand procedure. There is one problem. I don’t have the toolbar that gives me the link option at all!

Hi again,
As our Moderator drmike says the FAQs and forum search boxes are your friends. I found these threads for you. Please read them and determine whether or not they address your issues, okay. :)

Hi there, thank you for responding! I tried the Ctrl and f5 at the same time, but the page still reloads the same way (sans Editor). Help!

YUCKO! Not good news. Which browser and version are you using? Can you try another one? WordPress is best in firefox 2, opera 9 and IE7. IE 6 has issues.

Well, I have Windows, although I’m not sure if that’s what you’re asking. I’m not the most computer literate person in the world so bear with me. I use Yahoo to connect to the web if that helps. I have no idea what Firefox and all that is! :(

I’ve only had a computer myself for just under 4 years now so I know where you are coming from. I’ve never taken a computer class. I’m self taught. I used tutorials to figure out how to use Windows XP Pro well and also Microsoft Office Suite. When I finally figured I could handle it I became a blogger in April.
If you have a Windows operating system (OS) then it comes with an Internet Explorer (IE) browser. If you don’t have the latest version of it called IE 7 then it is possible that the browser is the problem.
Firefox 2 is a free open source browser than you can download from the internet. It works better with wordpress than older version of IE does. Do you know the version number of your IE browser?
Is this a home computer or is it a computer located where you work? Some places where people work refuse to allow staff to download a decent browser and make them use microsoft’s crappy IE. That’s why I’m asking.
I am not a technical type and I do not want to risk giving you any bad instructions so I’m going to bail out of this after you answer me and we’ll wait for a technical type to help you.

Good news! I kept trying the Ctrl F5 randomly over the last couple of days, and it eventually worked, and now the toolbar is there. Thank you so much for all your help, you’re awesome!
