No ‘Update Services’ in settings

  Hi all,

  I am trying to put my own pings lists in my update services box in >dashboard>settings>wrtting
  all the tutorials i have seen show a box where you put http://pingomatic (e.g.)

  I don’t have a box there to put anything in all I have on that settings page is:

  Size of the post box
  Formatting
  Default Post Category
  Default Link Category

  Post by email

  How do i get ‘Update Services’

  Those instructions are for self-hosted WordPRess.org powered blogs and your blog is hosted here at WordPress.com.

  Each WordPress.com automatically pings pingomatic.com every time you update.

  If you are referring to the wordpress.com blog linked to your username thenknow this- all wordpress blogs are equipped with pingomatic and immediately after we publish the pinging is automatically done for us.

  You can change the size of the post box here Dashbaord > Settings > Writing.

  Formatting > Check to make sure that the Visual Editor is not disabled in your user profile. http://en.support.wordpress.com/missing-visual-editor/

  The default post category is “uncategorized” and can be changed here > Dashboard > Posts > Categories

  Default link category is Blogroll and can be changed here > Dashboard > Links > Link Categories

  There is no “Update Services” on wordpress.com blogs.

  Thanks, i have wordpress installed in my website does this mean I can find the Update Services, if so where do i go.

  WordPress.COM free hosted blogs like the one linked to your username cannot be embedded into websites. WordPress.ORG free software installs can be.

  For those who have free blogs being free hosted by wordpress.COM this is the correct support forum to post to.

  For all of those who have blogs hosted by anyone other than wordpress.com this is the correct forum to post to > http://wordpress.ORG/support/
