No URLs or IMGs in editor

I am unable to add either URL’s, or pictures in the WYSIWYG mode. The font, list, indent buttons all work normally, but when I try either of these two features what I get is a small blank box. There is no place to enter a URL, no buttons, just a blank white window. To see what I mean, here is a screen capture:

This window is “modal”, meaning I cannot do anything else until I clear it using the “x”.

    a) I have the option in my profile checked to use the visual editor when writing checked. Yes I clicked “Update”, as it is still checked when I return to my profile.

    b) I am currently using ver, 2.1.3 according to the bottom of my pages. I switched to this, from ver. 2.0.IForgetTheNumber where I was having the same problem. When I did the upgrade, I purposely blew out the entire tinymce folder hoping this would go away… I’m such an optimist. After running the admin/upgrade file, and getting a “success” result, the rest of my blog has worked without a hitch.

Side note: One other curiosity I get is that the editor comes up in “visual” mode, and I can switch to “code” mode; but I cannot switch back once I do. (not sure if it’s related, but there ya go)

None of this appears to be browser specific, as I get the same result in:
Xp Pro: using IE6, FFox, or Opera
Ubuntu Linux: using FFox, or Konqueror

Any kind of clue would be appreciated, thanx,
    Fred

I”m sorry but we can’t help you here. You do not have a wordpress.com blog but instead have a wordpress.org blog. The two run on different software. And support for blogs that are not web hosted by wordpress.com is found over here http://wordpress.org/support

Strange as it’s not OS dependant either. I was thinking something was blocking the running of javascript.
