no "user" link in menu
-
Hi there. I want to invite authors to contribute to one of my blogs, but “users” does not appear on the menu for this blog. It appears on the menu for my other wordpress blogs, though. Can you please help? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
and if required click the “Need More Help” link and complete the form for account recovery. -
As an Administrator of a blog, you can head to Users > All Users in your dashboard to locate those you have invited to contribute to your blog.

“Users” doesn’t appear in my dashboard for the blog, even though I created the blog. It used to appear, but I made myself an author (in hopes of bolstering Google authorship) a while back not realizing that this would un-make me an administrator. How can I recover my role as administrator? Cheers.

If you are referring to the blog at chefstro.wordpress.com, you are not listed as the blog owner or an administrator of the blog. An administrator can change your level of access to the blog themselves, or they can contact us from their account for further assistance.
If you are referring to a different blog, please let me know.

I am referring to blog.chefstro.com. I am the one who created the blog, and I was the administrator for a while anyway because I successfully invited a contributor. I made myself an author, in hopes of increasing my cache with Google authorship, and this must have created the problem. If I’m not the administrator, though, who is?

@jackiedana
That’s not the first time I have seen a blogger post that game serve engines technique here. Maybe Staff need to update the user roles info so bloggers are warned to stop demoting themselves for search engine gaming reasons. -
The blog blog.chefstro.com is the same as chefstro.wordpress.com. The administrator is a different user account which may also be yours. For privacy and security reasons, I cannot divulge the username that owns this account.
However, I can say that I do not see any ownership/administrator changes to this blog since it was initially set up, and that you, as the user lucidcopy, were added as an author to this blog two months ago by the blog owner/administrator. Maybe that helps clear things up.
You might try logging out of WordPress.com as lucidcopy and then try logging in under the email address used to set up the blog, to see if maybe you can figure out the other username.
