No visitors showing, but pdf files downloaded

  Hi,
  On stats I see no visitors, but I see in file downloads, my pdf files showing downloaded almost daily – how does that happen?

  Hi there,

  This is probably happening because Google is indexing those files and they appear in the search results. So people can download them without visiting your site. Also, since those files are public other site owners might have linked them to their sites.

  In general, the downloads stats track all number of file downloads including yours. So, if you open those files daily, those recorded downloads could also be yours.
