No way to contact WordPress directly?

    So, if I understand this system correctly, there’s no way to contact WordPress directly. I bought a domain name and wanted to cancel it within their 48 hour period, but the “Support” page only had a search string that referred me to a FAQ with a “contact us” button — and when I pressed it, I went back to the “Support” page with the search string. That’s one issue. But then when I tried to find a way to contact WordPress directly about this, I couldn’t find it.
    What gives?

    The contact form is operational when I click in to it here. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
    You simply follow instructions there and type in “bought a domain name and wanted to cancel it within their 48 hour period” then click > Search

    I just went through that process to test it and in the final analysis I was directed back to http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ so that needs work for sure. :)

    You see the problem. It doesn’t work. They make it easy to BUY the upgrade but then it seems impossible to cancel.

    The bigger problem is that it doesn’t seem that there is any way to contact them directly on the site. I appreciate your giving me the email address.

    Yes, I’m sure they have millions of customers, but this feels like we’re in this machine age where I’m “talking” to machines and no humans anywhere. Automated businesses running on their own.

    It looks like the contact form has been “improved” – however this thread has been flagged for staff attention.

    I’m having the exact same problem. I want to cancel the domain that I purchased today.

    I sent an email to the address that timethief included.

    Please be patient while waiting for Staff to reply to you. There are 20 million WordPress.com users and Staff has a lengthy queue of tickets to reply to. The fact you have sent in an email within the 48 hour period means you will get a domain mapping upgrade refund but they may not respond instantly as they may not be able to.

  • We fixed up the form, so at least it has a working “closed” message now.
