No way to manage subscribers?!? WTF?!?
-
I have been able to find the (nearly hidden) list of subscribers, but I have no way to manage (most importantly, delete) them. Did you forget to include this essential feature? If so, the oversight is absolutely ludicrous and makes this module completely useless.
I hope you will address this in future releases. In the meantime, I’ll be using Subscribe2. Too bad, because I like the presentation of Jetpack’s version better, but as it is, the module’s only half-baked at best.

I thought I was posting to a JetPack support forum. My apologies if this is not the place to be.

Subscriptions via Jetpack are controlled by the subscribers. They have the freedom to unsubscribe themselves if desired.

Restating the issue is not addressing its resolution. I’m well aware that subscriptions are managed by the users. However, it’s ridiculous that they cannot also be managed by the site admin.
Is this going to be corrected or even addressed further? From what I can see, ALL the other subscription plugins are doing it. Why not you?
-
No, we’re going to keep this a feature controlled by the subscribers, as it is really a feature designed for the subscribers.
If you’re trying to remove subscribers that you don’t want following your blog, keep in mind that your blog is public and can simply be re-subscribed to at any time.
-
The most important reason for this is not to delete unwanted people, but rather so that when people ask to be unsubscribed, I can just do it for them instead of telling them to go do it themselves all the time. Having a lot of options for any feature always makes it more usable, IMO. Oh well, not a priority for you guys, I guess(?).
So far I’ve disabled more than half of the Jetpack features because I’m finding there are much better alternatives. It seems that the more I use it, the less of it I really want to use. Too bad.
Ok, thanks for your time :-) At least now I know not to watch for any updates to that module and I can focus fully on my Subscribe2 install.

You’re welcome!
If you ever decide to give Jetpack Subscriptions a try later, subscribers can unsubscribe themselves via a link at the bottom of every email, and can also contact us if they run into any trouble.
