No way to quickly add friends in new design

The notification drop down menu used to let you add followers when you check your notifications. That option was not included in the new design. Now I have to go to their sites and hunt for the “add” button.
This is just one of the many gripes I have with the dashboard and site layout. I Personally, I feel that the move toward a new “simple and clean” design has dropped some of the convenient features of WordPress. In the quest for simplicity, more advanced options have been completely dropped and the user loses out while trying to hunt for features that have been hidden to get them off the dashboard or taken out altogether. There is a roundabout way to continue using parts of the old dashboard, but it’s equally convoluted to access the old dashboard and who knows how long it will remain available.
Please allow users who want more advanced options but who don’t know HTML a way to access the old dashboard.

Following back someone simply because they followed your blog is not a good practice. There are many so-called followers who are actually clicking like buttons and following simply to get your visitors to click back into your blog.
On the notifications page https://wordpress.com/me/notifications you can click the star ☆ on each entry and you will be able to locate a follow link.

“to click back into your blog” was meant to be to click back into their blog. -
Also, I’m not sure what you’re talking about because as far as I can see, there is no star in the drop down notifications box for me to click. It’s just the address to the page where the visitor’s blog is located. Also, FYI, I moved my comment to the existing thread so this one can be deleted.
