Every theme has a detailed theme description page like this one is at https://wordpress.com/themes/lovecraft/ That’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://lovecraftdemo.wordpress.com/
All support docs are at https://en.support.wordpress.com/
Try using the theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/
Try also https://monksroadfishing.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
