No Widgets, archives, menues. Where are they?

I’m using the Hemingway theme and tried to create an Archive sidebar or footer……..nothing anywhere. Tried to create a Menu………nothing. I’m a little frustrated and am thinking, WOW, so many options and none of them work. I’d appreciate some help, but at this point, I don’t even know where the answer will be!!!
