No WordPress account but I do

    I was told the email address I thought associated with my wordpress.com account wasn’t registered.

    So, I tried to recover my account to find the correct email address but was then told I don’t have a WordPress.com account in that name. However, I have an email from WordPress.com on the email address I thought I’d used for that account, to activate my account – http://www.annewrightwell.co.uk.

    I created my WordPress.com account with an Askimet sign up and use A2 Hosting for my website.

    I’d be grateful if someone could advise as to what I should do now.

    Can you let us know what email address you’re trying? If you add the email address on its own line…

    Also, what are you trying to accomplish here? Get a new Akismet subscription or something else? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

    What I want to do is to be able to log in to the website so I can edit it.

    Thanks for clarifying! You will need to log in directly to the site at https://annewrightwell.co.uk/wp-login.php or try resetting the password here: https://annewrightwell.co.uk/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

    The site is not hosted by us at WordPress.com, so you won’t be able to edit the site from our end. It uses the WordPress.org software and is hosted elsewhere (by A2 Hosting).

    There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.

    If you’re unable to reset the password using your email address, it would generally mean that you used a different email address. Please contact A2 Hosting for help with restoring access to the site. As the site is on their servers, only they have access to them to help you out here.
