No '.wordpress.com' domains in the domain list

    Hi, I have a WordPress blog and i wanted to change it’s name and domain. But since I am not yet ready to buy a custom domain, I wanted to keep it .wordpress.com’. But when I went to Change your site address in settings and typed the domain I wanted, all the options were to buy one.
    How can I switch to a simple .wordpress.com site address as it is in the free plan? I could start a new site but I don’t want to lose all my posts and followers. Please help me here. Thank you!

    Hi there, if what you want to do is change the acottageofwords part of your wordpress.com site address to something else at wordpress.com you can follow this guide to do so: https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/

    Keep in mind that changing your site address means anyone linking to you (including search engine results and the link in your comments you’ve left on other people’s wordpress.com sites) will be broken.
