no .xml sitemap

  Hi, I’ve just a week ago turned on the feature to allow search engines to index my site. I thought this might also turn on my xml sitemap, but I still don’t see one at the address I thought it should be: theranch.org/sitemap.xml Is there another way to turn this on?

  Also, I see that google has not yet indexed the site, but read that it could take 3-4 weeks. But was concerned about the missing sitemap for when google does visit. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  It’s not a sitemap.xml which is generated and made available for search engines, but instead we allow search engines access to your site via the robots.txt file:

  http://theranch.org/robots.txt

  If you would like to increase the visibility of your site to google, you might want to create a Google Webmasters account and submit your site through that:

  https://www.google.com/webmasters/
