    Dear Community members!
I activated the site two weeks ago, but still there are no views. Could you please tell me what I did wrong?
    Thank you!

    Hey there!

Please read the below article to know about various ways of driving more traffic to your site.

  • Hi there,

It will take several weeks for search engines to index you site before you’ll start getting regular traffic from people finding your site via online searches. And online searches are the only thing that brings traffic to your site without you having to do anything extra besides publishing.

All other ways to get traffic requires you to go out and get it, by sharing your posts, marketing your site, engaging with other bloggers on their posts, etc.

Thank you so much Sarkar and Kokkieh!

I’m a beginner here and thank you for helping me!

Your advice is priceless for me now!

Could you please tell me what are categories and tags?

  • Happy to help :)

Categories and tags are both things you can add to make it clear what your posts are about.

Categories are used to sort content on your site by subject. So funny posts you can categorise as “Humor”, vacation posts as “Travel”, etc. That way if someone wanted to read a post about a specific topic, they can find just posts from that topic on your site. You can also add categories to the site menu so people can find them more easily. Use maximum two or three categories per post. Also think carefully about which categories you use – these form the skeleton for you site, so you want to be intentional about them, and not have too many overall.

Tags you can approach as key words related to the content of a specific post. Let’s say you have a category, Weather, and you write a post about a day there was a storm, you could tag it with “rain”, “wind”, “thunder”, “flooding”. So anything that’s relevant to the content of the post, that are key words you think your post might fit should people search for those key words. People usually use more tags than categories on a post, and they’ll be different for every post.

In total, try to not use more than 15 tags and categories combined (using more than 15 will prevent your posts from appearing in Reader tag searches), and less is more – only use the ones that are most relevant to the post, rather than everything you can think of :)
