Non Sticky Posts Not Showing On site Correcty
-
I just noticed that all my non sticky posts are not showing up on the site correctly. They get published, but do not show on the home page, which uses the news page template, nor on the blog page. All posts, those that are functioning correctly and those that are not, have the same category, Books, which make them appear on both pages. The following post should show up on those two places, but does not.
Clara Usón and Juan Carlos Mestre Win the premios de la Crítica Prize
This has been going on for some time, and I don’t see any obvious problem.
Thanks

After looking at this further, it looks like non featured posts are showing in the correct place. However, all posts use the same featured category, Books. Something still is wrong.

Have you read your theme description very closely?

You may also find your answer by reading Nuntius theme threads https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/nuntius
I’m sorry but I don’t have the time to search for an answer for you. -
There isn’t anything on those pages that help much. The only solution may be to dump the theme.

Don’t overreact. I think you can only feature one category and that may or may not be a factor in what you describe.
if not it could just be a small glitch that Themes Staff need to fix. That’s assuming that you aren’t misunderstanding any description details.
Did you try doing a Google search for Nuntius threads on our forums here site:en.forums.wordpress.com?

I have done some searches on Google and still don’t see exactly what I’m experiencing. However, now that I’ve done more digging I can give a much longer explanation of what is going on.
The issues breaks down in two to issues:
1. On the home page, which is using the news template, the featured category was set to Books. All my posts are in that category. However, what I was seeing in the More Articles section was that only articles that were in Books and had been sticky at one time or were currently sticky were showing up there. I switched the featured category to unclassified and everything I have posed showed up there. It is a bit of a hack, but I could live with that.
2. The second issue was on the Blog page. On that page I was having the same issue with only previously sticky items showing up there. Once I changed the featured category to unclassified, all my posts showed up. I also had an issue, though, in that all the current sticky posts sort to the top. Since I don’t make every post sticky, it can look like I’m not updating content very often, even though my new posts are on the blog page, just a ways down.
It seems when I first started using the theme it did not sort like this. And I’m fairly certain it didn’t have that problem with the featured category.
Thanks for your time on this thistimethisspace

Wow! Good on you for sussing this all out and reporting it so well. I have tagged this thread for Themes Staff attention. I don’t expect they will respond until tomorrow as it’s the weekend.

Thanks for the report but it’s a bit difficult to see what was going on your blog since you worked around by changing the featured category. Would you mind to put the featured category back so that I can see what is really going on?
I’ve tested the theme on my test blog but I didn’t see anything weird at a glance, but if you can replicate the issue I might be able to find something is wrong in the theme.

I have an done my work around. It now is in the same state when I discovered the issue.
Thanks.

Thanks for putting the featured category back. The theme appears to be working correctly.
I see you are hiding the featured category section by the following in Custom CSS.
#category-highlight { display: none; }But this doesn’t mean the posts in the featured category move to More Articles section, if you are trying to do so. So the lates six posts are not visible.
More Articles section displays posts that are not in the featured category section (the latest six posts from the chosen category) to prevent duplicated contents show up on the home page.
Hope it clarifies how the theme works.
