  do you all offer nonprofit discounts for hosting? We are using wix but find it a bit hard to add plug ins and things easily. They also do not allow event ticket sales directly from our site.

  We do not offer any discounts currently, but you can apply for tax-exempt status so that you are not charged any sales taxes. https://wordpress.com/support/tax-exempt-customers/

  We do not offer ecommerce functionality built-in on WordPress.com but you can upgrade to our Business plan which will allow you to upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” including several options for event sales management: https://wordpress.com/plugins/?s=events

  It’s also worth pointing out (since you will be new to our WordPress tools) that the Business Plan includes 24/7 livechat support if you choose the yearly option. This is not available under the monthly billing option (which offers email support) and is a huge help for getting questions for any WordPress questions you have.
