Thanks so much Timethief for previous help! Stupid question #1. how to make my site accessible so nonwordpress people can like/follow? and REALLY stupid question #2. How do I find (again) the “appearance” button? I had it, but now I can’t find it!

    Thanks so much!

site I need help with is cowponycountry.wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

We automatically show a follow button in the bottom-right corner of your site for all visitors, both logged in and logged out, and I see you already have a Follow Blog widget on your site as well, so non-WordPress users will be able to follow it.

Likes, however, are only available to people with WordPress.com accounts. Non-WordPress users cannot like posts on any site.

I’m not sure what you mean by the Appearance button. If you’re trying to make changes to your widgets, headers, background etc., you’re looking for the Customizer. Click on My Site, and then click the Customize button next to Themes to reach that tool.

YAY! thank you! So, non wordpress users CAN follow the blog? Great (still learning about widgets!) thank you so much for that.

And yes, I know I had seen the Appearance key but couldn’t find it again. Thanks for the tip!!

  • Glad I could help.

If you haven’t yet, you might want to take a look at https://learn.wordpress.com/ It covers most of what you need to know on how WordPress.com works :)

Let me know if you have any other questions.
