Nook template – subscribe function

  Hello! I have been trying to update the appearance of my blog after a 4 years hiatus to start writing again and I’ve tried a couple of themes to replace good old Coraline.

  I’ve settled on Nook, but unfortunately I can’t seem to make it add a Subscribe button on the home page. There is simply no Subscribe block I can add – I used the search function within options to add a new block, I also used the shortcut with / subscribe as it was indicated in other posts, and it did not appear. I also looked at the Jetpack Subscription plugin, but I saw it is not supported for the last two versions of WordPress so I did not install it. Should I?

  I don’t need anything fancy other than offering people who want to stay updated with my posts the possibility to receive an alert when I publish something new. If it’s not possible to add a simple Subscription button with Nook, can anyone suggest a similar clean-looking theme appropriate for the simplest blogging?
