Normal Site in Editor but once viewed in browser everything is flush right

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello. I’m using the StartAce theme in WordPress. Everything in my editor looks normal and when I click “View Site” to view it in a browser and/or URL instead of the editor the entire page, every page except the homepage becomes flush right. Could someone please help me figure out how to fix this?

    I’ve tried this code below in the additional CSS portion of the site and it did nothing.

    @media screen and (max-width: 959px){
    body .entry-content .alignfull {
    margin-right: 0 !important;
    }
    }

    Thank you!

  • Hi there,

    I’ve visited your site and when I looked at pages other than the homepage the margins appeared to be correct and not flush right. Were you able to sort this out on your own, or did you need a hand still?

    Thanks for the additional info!

    Everything is normal in the editor. I fixed the flush right issue but how it look in the editor is not how it looks once I publish the page.

    This photo is in the editor :

    This photo is once I publish:

    Also certain fonts are not showing up when I publish it. Please help me fix these issues.

  • Hi again,

    Do you happen to be copying and pasting text from another source like Microsoft Word or Google Docs?

    I’ve seen this awkward line break issue before, and it can often be due to pasting from traditional document apps. They tend to use invisible formatting that works in the app, but can have undesirable consequences when pasted into web-based editors.

    If you paste without formatting (shift+CMD+V on the Mac) does it clear up this issue? I checked your page but it appears you have made some edits since what I see is not the same as what is shown in your screenshots.

    Thanks for the additional info!

    It seems the issue was fixed for the fonts. Thank you! But I have all of my columns set to wide (1080px) and it’s showing up as 720px once published. How can I fix this?

    Also hope do I change the hover color on the buttons? I have it set to a color in the main styles section but on my pricing page the hover color is neon green, the sites default

    Every page is like this. Once it publishes it is not wide anymore and looks smaller than in the editor, even blocks and columns

    Also when Publishes. Why is there so much space between my header and the beginning of my page when it does not look like this on the editor? I don’t understand why the correlation from the editor to publishing is getting so messed up.

  • Hey there,

    But I have all of my columns set to wide (1080px) and it’s showing up as 720px once published. How can I fix this?

    The extra padding on your site is coming from the page template. You can see this by opening the page template either by visiting Appearance > Editor and selecting your Page template or from one of your pages under Page settings > Template > Edit Template. Once you have the template editor open for your Page template you can see the Group and Column blocks by opening the List view in the upper left-hand corner.

    You can remove the Content block, which is used to display your individual page content, by clicking and dragging it out of the Group and Column blocks.

    Once it is removed from the Column and Group blocks, you can set the Content block alignment to None, Wide width, or Full width using the floating menu.

    Also hope do I change the hover color on the buttons? I have it set to a color in the main styles section but on my pricing page the hover color is neon green, the sites default

    The buttons on your site are being changed by one of the plugins you have installed. I tested temporarily deactivating your site plugins and this resolved the issue. I recommend deactivating your plugins one at a time to see which is affecting the button color.

    Why is there so much space between my header and the beginning of my page when it does not look like this on the editor? I don’t understand why the correlation from the editor to publishing is getting so messed up.

    It looks like this space is also due to the additional Group and Column blocks and should be resolved with the solution above.

    I am not seeing the page or post referenced in your screenshot. Can you share a link to where you are seeing the duotone issue?

    Hope this helps!

  • I just visited but don’t see any images on that page. Can you re-add one or two so we can take a closer look? Is there another page instead that has an example we can see in place? Thanks!

    Hello! For some reason I am getting this error code “No route was found matching the URL and request method.” when I try to upload my video on my landing page. Could you help with this please?

    Also How do I get my header to be sticky and stay at the top and not scroll? Everytime I change it it still scrolls

    “For some reason, I’m encountering this error code: ‘No route was found matching the URL and request method,’ when attempting to upload a video on my landing page.”

    Could you provide more details about this issue? Where exactly are you trying to upload the video? What is the format of the video file? Are there any additional error messages displayed alongside this one? With this information, we’ll be better equipped to assist you.

    “Additionally, I’m having trouble making my header sticky so that it remains at the top of the page without scrolling. Despite my attempts to change it, the header still scrolls with the page.”

    Upon reviewing the demo for the StartAce theme (https://startacedemo.wordpress.com/), it seems that a “sticky” header isn’t the default setting. To achieve a sticky header, you’ll need to modify the theme template in the Site Editor. We have a helpful tutorial that walks you through this process here: https://learn.wordpress.org/tutorial/adding-a-sticky-header-or-banner/

    I hope this information helps! If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to ask.
