Not a valid UK postcode format…
-
Im trying to register for a custom domain for my blog, and it keeps saying that my postcode is not a valid Uk one (when it clearly is). Exact message; The “Postal Code” field does not seem to be in a valid United Kingdom format.
It’s a six digit one, I’ve tried entering with the space after the third and without, and it’s still not “valid”. What am I doing wrong?
TIA, Cee.

Do not include any spaces and special characters and see if that works for you please. If it doesn’t please post again.

I’ve tried it without spaces as well, and I’m only entering the postcode itself, nothing else, so I’m a little confused;
Eg of format; PL38KN (not actual postcode…)

Sorry this is so puzzling. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you, I’ll hold off posting though until this can be solved. When my friend and I decided to start a Blog, WordPress was my first choice, since I’ve had positive experience with it before. I’d really hate not to be able to use it this time because of this silly issue :-)

– bump. Sorry, I noticed this fell 5+ pages in the night & was worried it wouldn’t be seen!

Hi there, sorry you’ve had trouble registering a domain.
I’m bringing this to our developers so they can have a look, and will keep you posted here.

Not to worry – timethief had already added the tag “modlook” to this post, ensuring it would be seen by staff. We reply to the oldest modlooked posts first. You can read more about how to get help in the forums here:

Our developer was able to replicate your error if there is a blank space either before or after the postcode. Could you please make sure there are no blank spaces either in front of or after the postcode and try again? Let me know how it goes, thanks!
We are also looking into improving the form so that any blank spaces are stripped out automatically to prevent this from happening in the future.

If you still have any issues with your postcode after checking for spaces before and after, could you please provide the exact postcode you’re trying to use, so we can test with the specific one that’s causing the error? Thanks!

Hi there, I just wanted to check in again and see if you’re still having any trouble registering a domain, in case you didn’t see my previous replies. Removing any blank spaces before or after the postcode should solve the problem, but if it doesn’t, just let me know your actual postcode so we can look into this further. Thanks!
