not able to add link of youtube and other pages

i am trying to copy and paste the URL of you tube video and other website in my post but it doesn’t show and not getting pasted in the post…..help please

Well, that’s not a format that will work as anything other than an HTML link on a WordPress.com blog.
You need to use http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=EeKyGCyde9w in the shortcode like this:
`[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=EeKyGCyde9w]
As for the other, the link should work just fine the way it works in the forum. If you want to embed a video, you first have to make sure it is an approved video format for WordPress.com: http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=video
That is not.

I am having the same issue trying to embed a youtube video. I copy the URL , and when I try to paste it into my draft, I get nothing.

Use the shortcode please. It works for me every time I use it. It has never failed not even once.

NO. That’s not the correct way to do it at all. Read what raincoaster posted above. Read what the support docs clearly states. On a single line all by itself place this shortcode below and don’t anything at all in it:

I pasted the above shortcode provided by you but it doesn’t show in preview.
However when I select the option of add media in my post, there is an option in left blue vertical bar “insert YouTube” and “insert from URL” and I pasted the URL link of YouTube video in the space provided and selected “insert into post”. The following code which I mentioned earlier appeared on its own in my post and it is visible when I preview my post.[embed]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=EeKyGCyde9w[/embed]

but this is not working. What am I doing wrong ? Why does “insert from URL” option create the code which you say is not the right one?
