Not able to add media (photos)

  Hello, three days ago I upgraded to WP 3.8.1 and installed a new theme. When I tried to upload an upright picture it was uploaded but rotated 90 degrees, and when I clicked to rotate it, I received an error. Now I can’t add any pictures in any of the modes. The page stays in the crunching stage or sends me to a blank page. I am using Chrome version 33.0.1750.146 m and have deleted the cache and cookies. I tried in IE 11 but it does not work there either. Help!!
