Hi there,
Are you working on repensandolanacion.wordpress.com or a different site?
The most common reason for the Edit link not appearing is not being logged in as an administrator on the site. So, please make sure you’re logged in.
-
I’m logged in the correct page, but I’m an author, not THE administrator.
I am allowed to write and I was able to edit a couple of years ago.So, is this something the administrator has to activate? He’s been out a year or so.

Hi there,
Yes, the administrator/site owner would be the one to contact in regards to user privileges for the site. As an author, you are only able to edit your own posts. You need to be an admin or editor to edit other content on the site.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
-
Indeed, I’m trying to edit only content of my authoring; that’s where the issue is.
The Edit button or option isn’t appearing for MY authored content. Please indicate, why or how can this happen?

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
To check, are you looking to edit a post via visiting the post itself? For example, are you looking to see an edit button here: https://repensandolanacion.wordpress.com/2020/06/29/plebiscito-2020-el-mas-importante-en-la-historia-de-pr/
Or can you not see posts when logging into WordPress.com.
The answers to the above will help to determine next steps. :)
-
Umm…I’m logged-in and looking at my list of articles in the dashboard; the only button that appears is “View”.
I could add a new entry, but there’s no Edit.

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out – that is most odd!
Ok, can you tell me what browser you’re using, and also are you using any browser extensions please?
Many thanks.
-
Google Chrome and I have AdBlock. Also, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials; but wordpress.com is fully allowed and I used it for most of the latest posts.
Please, system admins should verify if something needs to be changed or activated.

Thanks for clarifying!
I took a closer look at that site’s setup, and it looks like your user role there has always been a Contributor, not an Author.
A Contributor can create and edit only their own posts but cannot publish them. When one of their posts is ready to be published or revised, the site owner or another administrator can review it. Contributors cannot upload files or images.
Once a Contributor’s post is approved and published by an Administrator, it can no longer be edited by the Contributor. However, the post author will still be the Contributor instead of the Administrator who publishes the post.
If you need to have your access changed so you can edit posts after publication, you would need to contact the site Administrator and request they change your role to one that can edit post-publication.
I hope that clarifies things!

Hi there,
Yes, indeed. I would touch base with the admin of the site and have your role changed from contributor to author, and you should be set from there.
Thanks!
