not able to select things on "pages"

  I’m currently having an issue where while I’m trying to edit/create a page for my site, everything will become highlighted or I won’t be able to click something new.

  To better illustrate this issue, here are a couple of examples:
  1) I inserted an image and when trying to drag it to become smaller, I was unable to click anything else; even when not holding down my mouse the only thing I could do was manipulate the image size without ever being able to stop “dragging” it. It was as if I was holding down my mouse but I wasn’t.

  2) When I made a new box, I wasn’t able to write in it or click any of the functions/options. Instead everything would become highlighted as I moved my mouse to select something else, causing me to be unable to make any edits.

  Here is what I’ve already tried to do to fix the situation:
  – tried multiple new mouses (bluetooth and plug-in)
  – restarted my computer and the search engine
  – tried editing my WP page on multiple different search engines
  – updated my WP
  – tried editing on a different computer
  *also, no I am not holding down my mouse when these issues occur
  *FYI– I’m using MACs as this website was originally created on a MAC
