Not able to upload a photo – for days

  I have been blogging here for two years with no problem, yet now suddenly I am having big difficulties: just to get on the edit draft page takes literally ages (don’t know why), but when I try to upload a photo next to the post, nothing happens. Tried with Firefox as well as IE, the result is the same: when I click on the icon for uploading a photo, nothing happens. It has been like this for days. Otherwise blog itself seems to work fine. I have tried to clear cashe and cookies, logged out and in…, wrote a new post and tried with it…, nothing works.

  Have you updated any virus scanners or firewall software? Have you tried the Cookie Dance? Log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart the computer. Don’t leave out ANY of those steps and that usually clears up these kinds of issues.

  Hi, thanks for this, it did help a bit. Before I cleared cache and cookies, but did not restart computer. Now I did it all and I came further down the line – now when I clicked the upload photos icon, the flash uploader window opened, but then when I select the photo, nothing happens. It seems to be struggling a bit with something, but then nothing happens. Even if I repeat. Same result with the browser uploader.

  Now what?

  p.s. My firewall and antivirus software is updated, up and running.

  OK, now I tried again with the browser uploader and it worked. However, it works really terribly slow, ten times slower than ever in the past, but nevertheless it worked. I still don’t know what the reason is for this (my connecting is as fast as ever) and should you guys have any idea, I would only be too happy to try them out.

  YOu’re probably running AVG. It’s interfering lately; I’ve seen it myself.

  no, I am running NOD32 and it never caused any problems so far.

  Same result with the browser and flash uploaders? I’m afraid I’m out of ideas. You DO have room left in your account, don’t you? Check your Media Library to see how much room you have left. Other than that, I don’t know what it could be and suggest you contact staff.

  somehow it all started working again. At the beginning there were just minor problems left, and nowadays everything is back to normal.

  I will start to believe in ghosts in the machines…
