not all categories are not appearing in widget Link option– only 4 out of 6

  re blog http://celebritylessons.wordpress.com/
  have six categories. I would like to list all six on sidebar as LINKS. However, when I attempt to do this, my options do not include all six categories , only four options, never giving the option to include “art of writing” and “art of celebrity”. I have saved categories and they appear on category page but not on pull down in widget link options. Please advise.

  sorry. I see a double negative. didn’t proofread carefully. delete first “not” please. headline reads “all catagories not appearing in widget Link option.

  Have you used those categories in posts? They will not show up until you do.

  Old posts have been re-catorgorizes. A dozen or so posts from 08/09. The new categories for the old posts still do not appear, and I have updated all posts.
  If this is the case–that updating old posts with new catagory names– does not give option to use, then do you think this means old blog entries must be re-posted in order for new category to be activated and show up in widget option?

  No. I mean that categories which have never been used will not show on the categories widget.
