Not always getting an email when someone comments on my blog posts

Hello, I dont always get an email when someone comments on my blog post. I have checked my Settings > Discussions and everything seems to be fine. I found some notifications in my junk folder and have marked them safe and now check the junk folder periodically just in case. But I had a comment come through the other day and I couldnt find an email at all so it seems this problem is persisting. This person has commented before and I have approved their comments so they should just go through. Thanks for your help.

So at Settings > Discussion > Email me whenever…, you have “Anyone posts a comment” toggled on?
If at “Before a comment appears,” you’ve had “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” toggled on, and then approved a comment from that comment author, then in order to receive an email message when that author commented after approval you would have to have “Anyone posts a comment” toggled on at “Email me whenever.”

Hi thanks for your response. Yes my email me “when anyone posts a comment” is ticked on.
It is weird because sometimes I get an email, but often nothing and there doesn’t seem to a correlation if the commenter has commented before or not.
Thanks for trying to help. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Kate, the emails should be sending out through your host, actually. You can ask them to check server mail logs to see if it’s being sent or whether they’re getting stuck somewhere.
