Not an easy read, I'm perplexed with the most simple tasks.
-
Look at the Display Posts Shortcode. With Radcliffe 2, I can’t think of any other option.
-
Can you recommend another template?
I’m willing to make a fresh start and not be encumbered with a template that is better suited for a different purpose.
Maybe I should ask you how to best assess templates for what I’m trying to accomplish.
Simple is good!Thanks;

Richard, one of my go-to themes, and one with some great features is Dara. Here is a link to the demo page so you can look around on it.
I also really like Shoreditch. Great features and nice typography. Demo site.
You might look at those and see what you think.

How do I change the header picture at: https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/blog/
I want you to know that I spend a lot of time trying to answer these questions before posting them to you.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hi Richard, I’m not seeing an image on the blog page right now. Generally what will show up there above the site title and tagline will be a Logo, if you have one set at Customize > Site Identity, or the Header Image if you have one set at Customize > Header Image.
-
My main concern is how to see any blog post that I create.
I made two posts but I don’t see either of them.
Richard
-
Also I want a different picture ( is it referred to as a “Header”) on the page that is titled Blog.
-
I see my blogs at this address:
https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/2018/03/03/where-is-this-blog-post-appearing-on-my-site/
But I can to find them if I simply go to my site: https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.comAnother problem has shown up:
When I go to my site the menu bar that would take you to Blog and Contact is gone! Please advise.

I got the menu back
I went to Menus>customizing menus
I had recently created a menu I named ideas. It looked like I (may have) turned off the menus.
I activated them and they are now alive. (I’m so happy)Under menus there is a blue bar titled ideas
in little letters on that ideas bar it says “currently set to header”
Please tell me what that should mean to me?Also in the admin panel under appearance there is menus: https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
This page, as you must know, has two tabs: edit menus and manage location. I have now idea about what to do here. Can you direct me to a resource so I can learn about how to use the options as there must be a lot that can be set up from here.I still can not understand how to post blog comments and have them show up on my site as I mentioned in my last messages to you.
Thanks,
Richard

Hi, your blog posts will appear on the Blog page you have created and display in reverse chronological order (newest first). If you wish to have your blog posts show on your main page, then you would need to set your main page to show your blog posts and then delete the “blog” page and its menu item.
You can have posts show in a slider at the top of a static home page. See the Dara Theme Showcase page under Featured Content Slider for information on setting that up. It is best to have a few posts set as featured, if you are going to use that feature, and also to include Featured Images for them.
I’m seeing your menu just fine. Are you still not seeing it?
-
But my blog post do not show up on my blog page.
That is why I am asking for advice.
Here is a link to the blog post: https://wordpress.com/post/costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/174

https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/blog/
this is where I want them to appear.Richard

As I mentioned the menu is showing up.
I’m just focusing on getting posts to appear at : https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/blog/MY next question is how do I change the header picture on the blog page to be different from the header picture on my home page?
Thanks,
Richard

Edit “My thoughts on getting started”
I want to create a place so compelling …I should be clear when I’m saying I created this post “Where is the (blog) post appearing on my site?
Here is the location: https://wordpress.com/post/costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/174
If you visit my site you will not be able to see the post because there isn’t a link to.Does this message clear up any confusion?

my blog post now shows up on the appropriate page : https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/blog/
I have no idea why or what I may have changed.
Please go to this page and see what I was trying for.Can you recommend other resources besides asking you my questions in order to learn wordpress?

Simple question, i think:
I created a post, it show up om my home page. I want it to show up on my blog page….like the other posts.
What do I do?R

When I click on blog in your menu, it takes me to you blog page and that shows the one post that you currently have published. As you publish more posts, they will show up on the blog page. Are you not seeing that one post you have published at https://costaricamountainlife.wordpress.com/blog/?
To show a different header image on the blog page, you would need to use CSS to replace the image on the blog page. I’m currently seeing a placeholder for the header image, but the image is not showing up. Did you by chance delete that image from your media library?

The basics of using WordPress are covered in this site we set up: https://learn.wordpress.com/. You might want to work through that for the basics. Past that, I would also suggest our support pages. If you want information on Header Images, you can search https://en.support.wordpress.com for header image and it will give you more information on that.
Another resource is the Dara Theme Showcase page, which will include setup information and discussion of the theme’s features.
-
The Quick Specs section at the bottom of the Theme Showcase page will have some useful sizes for featured images and content column widths. The suggested header image size will be in a paragraph at Customize > Header Image.
