not appearing in global tags
-
Ive contacted support a couple of times now, but my blog is now about a month old and still failing to appear on the global tag pages. As far as I can tell I am following all necessary rules. Is there anyone who wouldnt mind glancing over my site to tell me something obvious I am missing?
Thanks so much

Thinking out loud… What do you have checked your privacy settings? http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
-
Privacy settings were ok to let robots in – however –
one of their WordPress.COM tags is popular and their Post was one of over 3,000 entries indexed by that Global Tag – that is a lot of looking – the Tags do seem to be in chronological order but on that can still be a lot of sites to look at on the Tags page – I think 30 at a time.

yeah my privacy settings are very public.
mike im not sure exactly what you are saying…the tag pages, besides the very popular ones, are all chronological, and ive purposely used some random tags so i should be able to find my site easily, but still not appearing. -
@dearexgirlfriend
Please note that when we assign tags to posts the posts appear in order of their original date/timestamps. If you have assigned commonly used tags then be aware that there are so many posts being posted at any point in time that they are bumped down and off the front page for the tag in question to the following pages very quickly. Please read this section in the support documentation > http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/#missing-posts
If those 4 causes of missing posts do not describe your blog and if your blog visibility is “public” then contacting Staff means they will assist you when your ticket surfaces in their queue.

Be sure to check your Spam filter – a common problem with “no reply from the staff” is the email went into the Spam filter – I have had several replies from the staff dropped into the Spam filter despite my marking them as OK.

thanks for the responses everyone – timethief -none of the causes describe my blog and i have had a staff member check my blog and told me ‘all appears ok….and to just wait longer.’ however support site also points to only having to wait a few days, now im waiting more than a few weeks. and i also realize my blog would get bumped from front pages of the global tag pages quickly, but i have gone through dozens (even way past my time stamp) and can not come up with it! just getting a little frustrated…

I have reported the same problem for the third time. Things that I have been told by support that have turned out not to be the cause are:
1) If you save a draft before publishing the article will go in the list at that date, which may be many pages back. I have looked back for many pages and not found my posts, and I have posted without saving first.
2) If you edit a post after publishing it recounts all your tags and categories, so that two edits of a post with 8 tags and categories after publishing would count as 24 meaning that you would be de-listed. I don’t know whether this is true but I have taken care not to edit after publishing.
I have also seen my post appear briefly in the global tag feed and disappear. I have asked support whether someone has incorrectly reported my blog as mature and they say they have not.
Currently the global tags are completely broken. posts don’t appear and then disappear and some people fiddle the system to keep older posts at the top of the list. For example in the Hinduism feed you will see one post hours old right at the bottom of the page because other older posts have jumped in front.

I have a ticket at the moment, when I get home and can check my home email I will see if there has been any movement on this issue. I used to watch a few categories for new posts in google reader, but this is now effectively useless because the “last 6 posts” are always old ones.
