Not being able to log-in or create new account

  Posting this on behalf of my colleague, his email is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  When he tries to log in to wordpress.com, he gets an error ‘User does not exist’.

  When he tries to sign up with the same email address, he gets ‘User is already active’.

  He wants to update his gravatar but apparently he is stuck in this loop. Can you please help us?
