Three days ago when i typed in tags from my posts to google i would get two kinds of hits showing up: one leading me to en.wordpress.com/tag/argo/ (a list of wordpress blogs) and the other to my blog itself http://folkcatalogue.wordpress.com.
Now when I try it, only the en.wordpress.com appears. I’m guessing I’ve inadvertently changed something. Any idea what?
Any help much appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The mysterious ways of Google.
I’m not seeing anything amiss on your blog.
Besides the “en.wordpress.com/tag/argo/” coming up on page 1, there’s this:

One tip for future seo, is that you can use tags with more than one word. Like Jean Ritchie rather than
“folk, jean, kentucky, ritchie, songs, vinyl, westminster” The whole name is more descriptive. -

The other thing is that your oldest blog post is 4/24, and it can take up to 6 weeks for Google to index a blog although typically it takes less time than that. Be patient, write posts and tag and categorize them and you will get there. If Google has found your blog through the wordpress global tags pages it should not be long.
You can also speed up the process by verifying your blog through google webmaster tools as explained in this support document: http://support.wordpress.com/verifying-with-google-webmaster-tools/

cheers both. i’ve verified with google (though haven’t managed to hide the page yet), but am still a bit bemused as to why the blog’s homepage should have been visible on the google lists for three days, and now not at all.

It’s best not to try and enter the dark and mysterious mind of the Google. People have tried and never returned.
