Not every followers is receiving notifications

Not everyone following my company blog is getting notifications. I have set up a blog and have set up everyone in my office with a free account through WordPress. I set it up for everyone to receive an email notification when anyone posts, but it seems that only about 6 people are receiving the notifications when something is posted. I have checked the settings of two people (one that got it and one that didn’t, and they are both set for the instant notification. They also have the “Default Jabber Instant Messenger Delivery” checked. Am I missing something. This is a free blog, so I do not have the ability to add plugins. Is there a way to fix this on the free version or is it because it is free that not everyone is getting the notifications? Please let me know. Thank you.

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Will you please provide a couple of usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers who did not receive the emails as well as a couple of email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts? The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

OK. I am not sure what you mean, but for instance, mgallaghercch (whose adddress is (email visible only to moderators and staff)) did receive an email when I posted my last post, but vreadingcch, (whose email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff)) did not receive the notification.

Hi there,
I checked the settings for vreadingcch, and they are set to only receive email updates once a day. That means they’ll receive one email per day with all email updates from the blogs they follow, around the time window set in their notifications settings, rather than immediately after the post is published.
If they’d like to receive that email notification immediately, they can change that on the Edit Blogs I Follow page.

Thanks for your response, but now I have another question. Why is there two places where you can set notifications? You have the one you showed me and then if you click on the following https://wordpress.com/me/notifications you also get to set the notification. I had this person set to “instant email delivery” here. I guess that doesn’t work.

Your notifications settings control the default settings for new sites you follow, but you can also control each site individually on the Edit Blogs I Follow page. That way, if you follow multiple blogs, you can choose to get certain blogs’ updates immediately even if you usually get daily or weekly email updates for the rest of the blogs you follow.
