Not getting blog subscription email alerts

  Hello!

  I noticed starting on Tuesday that I’m no longer receiving email alerts for the blogs I subscribe to by email. For example, one of them is rachels.table.com. She has a new post up today, and I didn’t receive an email. (I know I have subscribed to her by email, not just ‘follow’ through WordPress.)

  Hi Julie,

  You’ve blocked WordPress.com from sending you subscription emails, which is why you are no longer getting email alerts for the blogs you follow. You can change this in your Subscriptions Delivery settings here:

  https://en.wordpress.com/settings/subs-delivery/

  Make sure that the box next to “Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com” is unchecked if you’d like to get email updates.

  Hello! Thanks for your help! I unchecked the box (I actually didn’t know about this feature, so had never checked it to begin with), and started getting alerts, but stopped getting them again. I just went to my settings, and sure enough, the box was checked again. Not sure if this is some sort of glitch?

  P.S. – I did ‘Save Changes’ after unchecking the box.

  Well, that’s odd! It does sound like it could have been a glitch in the system.

  I checked your account settings on our end, and right now you don’t have subscription emails blocked. If the box gets checked again, can you leave it checked and then let me know? That will let our developers investigate how it got changed. Thanks!

  Hi Rachel! It happened – the box is mysteriously checked again, and I haven’t been receiving email alerts for the past two days!

  Hi Jules – You’re the second person to report this, so I’ve asked our developers to look into it. You can go ahead and uncheck it again now.

  Hi Jules – This happened because Yahoo bounced our emails, due to a verification check from them that we implemented. We’ve made an adjustment on our end that should fix this for now. Can you please let me know if you have this problem again? Thanks!
