Not getting e-mail from WordPress
-
Hello, I was added as an administrator to [redacted]’s website today. I was told I should receive an e-mail with login credentials for the [redacted] website’s wordpress interface. I have not received anything. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I have a different WordPress account? Recently I tried to subscribe several times to a friend’s blog on WordPress and never got any of those e-mails either. Seems to be an issue with me getting e-mails from WordPress? Why would that be?

Why is there no option to delete this?! Where I entered the question, it implied I was asking staff at WordPress privately, not posting for the general population to see and now I see no way to delete it!!!

Hi there,
That site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software and we have no control over admin accounts on that site – your admin account on that site has no connection at all to your WordPress.com username account.
If you’re not receiving emails with your login credentials, please contact the admin of that site, as they need to fix this from their end.

If you use the support contact form while logged into an account that doesn’t own any upgrades on WordPress.com the form clearly indicates it will post to the support forums, not submit a ticket. Forum threads cannot be deleted once posted, but I’ve removed references to the site from your post.

I just encountered this same situation, though I was more aware of the problem than you seem to have been. In some ways, this WordPress things seems to be remarkably amateurish.

Hi shannonjacobs695374035,
If you need some help with a WordPress.com site, please start a new thread for your question so we can look at your site there.
Thanks!

I already had started a new thread, but in general I think it would be better if all reports of the same problem wound up in the same place.
There is a generalized “solution”, but mostly I feel like WordPress is unlikely to implement anything along those lines, so I lack the motivation to include even the elevator version here. However, you have reminded me that I should go see if that new thread still exists and if so, whether it has elicited any helpful response…
