Not getting indexed

Ever since we moved our blog from the wordpress domain to blog.roost.com we don’t seem to be getting indexed by technorati, google reader, etc. Seems like it’s getting pinged by Technorati but when I search I don’t see our posts. I see other folks’ links to us, but not our own. Would love any tips.

Hmmmm. I’m not quite sure how it works with a subdomain, but if I were you the first thing I’d do is change the URL under “Website” on my profile to the blog, not the main site. A couple of weeks with a direct link to the blog should help you, assuming you do run around and leave comments for about fifteen minutes a day.

When you change domain names you lose your google rank and your technorati rank, and provided you re-register with both under the new URL it should rebuild fairly quickly; anywhere between four weeks and four or five months.

WP.com pings using Pingomatic, but you might also want to use Pingoat.com as a backup. Just go to http://www.pingoat.com and fill in the forms (skip the traffic boosting spam on the top, it doesn’t work) and away you go. You can save the page in Favorites and do it after every post. Can’t hurt.
