not getting the email for resetting password
-
Hi,
I am trying to login to my website but it doesn’t let me in as the password I used was leaked in a data breach. So I tried resetting it by submitting both my email and username but I am just not getting the email to reset it.
Can you help?

Hi there!
Can you let us know the URL of the site where you’re having this problem? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thank you!

Hi,
it’s https://epdm-bucuresti.ro.
I activated a plugin on it not a long time ago called Wordfence. That plugin keeps sending me emails that someone is trying to reset the password and I am not getting the actual email to reset it.
Thank you. -
Hello there,
I am not getting the actual email to reset it.
Are you using a custom email address? If yes, you would need to check if emails are trapped via a filter.
An email log plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/EMAIL+LOG/ should check if the emails are firing from the website from the get go.
To note – This site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. This is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Hi,
thanks for your reply. I am using a gmail address.
The problem is that I can’t login to the wordpress backend at all so installing a plugin seems impossible.
Could I possibly reset the password from cPanel?

There are a few different ways that you can proceed. I’ll link those below. If you’re having further trouble with these options, then we will ask that you post in the WordPress.org support forum, as we’ve exhausted what we can do from here.
