not gettting SMS for two-step authentication

  For the past few days, I am not getting any SMS for logging – I have registered for two-step authentication. I am using the backup codes only for logging in for the past two days. Please check where the mistake is. If it is on my side please let me know

  Hi there,

  Your account logs show you logged in using a code sent via sms and changed your phone number just after posting this thread. Do you still need help with this?

  just one small correction. I did not change the phone number after the post – i only changed the recovery phone number.
  its been a while, but i remember that i was using backup codes only to log in. finally i found out that my phone network service was the source of the problem and informed them.
  now i don’t use their network phone number for logging in.
  just one small thing: before there used to get sms from a number like 53902137 . These days there is +141 prefixed before that number.
  Any way the problem is solved. Thanks. And sorry for the trouble. I am so grateful to wordpress – my 2 sites would not be what they are without you people. Thanks a ton.

  I’m glad you got it sorted out.

  Regarding the prefix, that’s probably due to the different provider – not all providers include the international dialling code when they show you the number from which the message comes.
