not having to give permission for comments by others

At present if someone makes a comment on my blog it has to be approved by me. How can I turn this off so there comment appears without having to be approved?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to your dashboard – Settings – Discussion
When you have made the changes scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on Save Changes

IMO removing comment moderation is not a good plan because that what spammer’s look for ie. open comments. Be aware that removing comment moderation means some spam be automatically posted to your blog. -
And be aware that moderating comments means reducing the number of people who comment in total. Comment moderation is extremely unpopular among habitual commenters.
