    Hey Michelle, you are using the free, self-hosted, version of wordpress. This forum is for wordpress.com which is a managed wordpress hosting service. You can learn more about the differences here.

    You can get help for the self-hosted version at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ The folks there are better suited to answer your questions. Hope that helps :)

  • Hi there,

    Can you tell me the name of the theme you’re trying to use?

    And are you trying to activate it from Appearance ->Themes here on WordPress.com, or in the theme showcase in WP-Admin on your site?

    @rawalplawit
    ,

    The error message the OP quoted indicates this is related to a WordPress.com theme, so this forum is the right place for them to post for the time being.

    Note that the general WordPress.org forums you linked to only provides support for the core WordPress software. Support for individual themes and plugins for that software is the responsibility of the developers who make those products :)

    @kokkieh, I see.

    In that case, @michelleeeey, you seem to be using the blockbase theme currently. Could you elaborate on the steps you took?
    When did the error start to appear?
    Have you or anyone added any kind of custom code on your website?
    Any changes you might have made to the website before the error?

    The more information you provide regarding this, the faster we can solve this :)

    My guess is that code was added outside of <?php ... ?> block at one of the files(functions.php, etc.) or through a code snippet plugin.
