Not linking to category.
-
In the HTML language of my link under my images at bluebirdgrainfarms.wordpress.com, I put:
It won’t link to my “The Whole Grain Scoop” category as I want. I have read over the threads, reloading widgets into sidebars, etc., but it is still not linking to my category. What am I doing wrong?
-
Unfortunately, the category slug of this particular category is a little weird, so that the working link has to look like this:
<a href="http://bluebirdgrainfarms.wordpress.com/category/the-whole-grain-scoop-the-whole-grain-scoop">The Whole Grain Scoop</a> -
It worked for The Whole Grain Scoop, but for Bluebird Grain Farming Life, which I have posted:
-
But again it doesn’t show on the reply, so I did post:
bluebird-grain-farming-life-bluebird-grain-farming-life
how do you put it in the little grey box to show the code?
-
I forgot to ask you if there is a way to link my photos to our website, so if anyone clicks on the actual photo, they will be taken to our site.
-
I am getting Error 404 – Not Found, so even though I put bluebird-grain-farming-life-bluebird-grain-farming-life, it will not link to the category.
-
For the little gray box you have to use bacticks. Since I work on a german keyboard, I cannot say where backticks are situated on your keyboard.
bluebirdgrainfarms, you will find the code for your links directly on your sidebar, on the category widget. The “double” slug is for sure a unique mistake of the on e category; the other one seems to be ok.

I have the exact same problem. I insert a link into my post and it doesn’t work but if I used the exact same text in the comment field it works fine.
Here is what I use
Thanks
-
Sorry this is what I use
I put in two breaks so it wouldn’t come up as above
-
Sorry about the double posts but I can’t edit replies. I did a search on how to post a link but as I said it doens’t work in the actual post only the comment field. If you click on the second link you’ll see what I mean.
thanks

IF you are posting code that needs to be looked at as code, put it between backticks, those little marks on the same key as the ~ that look like this`.
-
~ that look like this`.
Thanks, never even noticed that key before. Let me try again
<a href="ENTER URL HERE">TEXT TO BE SHOWN HERE</a>If I use that in the post section of the blog it simply shows up as text, but if I post that in the comment part it works fine
